An Astoundingly honest user poetry submission

I lose myself in the thoughts
of these sinful wants.
it is truly so sinful,
for I envy every beautiful thing
that catches your attention faster than
I ever could.

Dreams

What is it about the unobtainable
that attracts the lovelorn?
How strongly desire holds on
bleeding the heart of every drop or dream.

Dream I can no more
only the lost dreams of the loveless
fill my empty heart.

Each night draws in passing endless time
that never seems to wait or realise
I need a while.

I hold on to yesterday,
a nothingness that cannot grow.
Love has withered as change blossoms
and my pain can only flourish now.

Consumed I am by weeds of self doubt,
entangled in the web I weaved.
I weep not for myself
but for that which I could have been,
for the wings I have ensnared.

Avard31

This particular poem I wrote for the beginning of a movie script that I am writing for fun. It is based on my beautiful girlfriend of three years. I hope you enjoy it.

This love transcends all space and time
Our only purpose is to hear "you're mine."

Shattered

My primitive mind seeks knowledge of the unknown
My selfish deeds seek condolence of thine heart
My weary thoughts know nothing of remorse.....

The unknown is something I have not found,
The feeling of selflessness, love, and happiness....

Introvert

Hiding behind words because my soul hurts.
Mind is weary and all empty tonight as I look inside
trying to find a stronger way to be around people
who leave me uncomfortable,
feeling negatively rejected. I am introspective,
introverted, lack the confidence of the extrovert.
I say too much and it means too little.
Sometimes I get the impression,
I am deeply shallow.

To be in Love

Oh, to be in love

To wait for his arrival
I'll be with you soon

But never soon enough.

Loving Me

Loving me is like trying to venture into the deep, cavernous wasteland of the shattered pieces of my soul. I seriously don't know what will be left of you when you return...a hollow shell of a human being when someone like me has disposed of you.

Loving me is going to end with the essence stolen from your very being. Not a very charming proposition, but there it is.

A Poem by Justin Davis

Twisted ships are dragging drifting off your jagged dreams.
Crystal waves sweep muddied eyes in silent disbelief.
Whisper flames into my ear.

The most beautiful sea:
                   hasn't been crossed yet.
The most beautiful child:
                   hasn't grown up yet.
Our most beautiful days:
                   we haven't seen yet.
And the most beautiful words I wanted to tell you
                   I haven't said yet...

Never been told it will be alright.

Another Great User Submission

So many things are swimming through my mind right now.
So many thoughts, memories, emotions, and demons.
They float by like sheets of ice,
chilling me down to the deepest part of my broken soul,
making me numb.

prairies he dreamed in.

Wow guys! Thank you so much to everyone...

I am overwhelmed at the amount of traffic we have generated in the past week. That means that we are actually having plenty of readers interested in our blog. Thank you to everyone who has submitted their wonderful poems to us and I hope to receive more and more wonderful submission in the days to come. In the meantime, I will continue to post our user submissions as well as some of my favorite poems from my friends and around the web. Moving forward, I would like to change the layout of the page and make it more interactive to the readers. In addition, I feel like the current template is a little too boring (yawn). Hopefully, we will get updates rolled out quickly so we can make this blog a more inviting and friendly environment for everyone.
We are accepting poems from all people currently but also we are looking for some long-term writers who would like to write at least 1 unique poem for the site a week. No compensation yet for this, but we will implement it soon. Right now is the perfect time to seize this opportunity and become part of an expanding community of writers and readers.
Thank you so much again, to both our contributors and readers! We hope ya'll are just as excited as we are about the future of the blog.

One

I will not be written about in textbooks or studied in classes
Nothing large and ostentatious will be dedicated in my name
I will not make the front page when I visit a small town
My work will be worth the same amount when I die
But
If I can change one mind
Elicit one giggle
Start one discussion
Give one smile
Then every word I write is worthwhile
